HomeNewsQuarterly Newsletter – July 2025 – Signs, Movies and Ladders

In our July 2025 Quarterly Newsletter, we highlighted three of our specialist services: sign and banner installation, Tundra’s support to a recent film production, and an interesting ladder safety training task.

Sign and Banner Installation

Tundra supports several customers involved in advertising and marketing who sometimes have a need to install and remove signs and banners in situations where traditional access methods like boom lifts or scaffolding are not appropriate.

These include the installation and removal of a large vinyl sign on the corner of Spadina and Dundas in downtown Toronto which we have now completed a few times. You can check out a timelapse of of us at work here.

Utilizing rope access services gives marketing and advertising companies within Toronto, and beyond in Ontario, a fast and safe solution to tricky access solutions, and using Tundra Rescue saves time and money with optimal work results.

Support to Film Production

In the spring of 2025 Tundra Rescue had a unique request to provide standby fall protection on rooftops for a production company that was conducting filming for one of the world’s most well known film franchises within the Hamilton region.

Our managers and lead technicians reviewed the clients project needs, and were able to provide the client with a detailed safe work plan to get the project started. From there, equipment needs were identified, and arranged.

Tundra Rescue arrived onsite to oversee the safety in the set up and rigging of equipment as the production team prepared for their shoots. We adapted to their changing work flow and demands, and were on site supporting the shoot for the duration of the filming.

The production team were very happy with us, and actually increased the scope of the task once they realised what we could do. Our technicians enjoyed it too, and we are all looking forward to watching the final results once they are released on Paramount.

Ladder Rescue Training

Large storage facilities are being built more and more across southern Ontario as we see consumer needs increasing, and product demand expanding; and often robotics are being utilized for the storage and access of inventory.

This spring a client requested ladder rescue training for their staff within a large technology-integrated product warehouse. The training request was to ensure the safety of workers as they climbed high ladders up to 80 feet to inspect, and routinely repair, the robotics and various mechanisms involved.

Our Tundra Rope Access team was able to create a unique Ladder Rescue training program which ensured that the employees were properly trained to safely handle any internal rescue needs. Our instructors were able to instil knowledge and confidence in the workers to help them do their job with less distraction and worry.
