Enter confined spaces safely and effectively
Tundra Rescue provides high-quality confined space safety, access and rescue solutions in Nigara, Ontario area and beyond.
We are comfortable and skilled in assisting with challenging working conditions and situations across many different sectors and industries, and all of our technicians have training according to NFPA standards, are certified by the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) and/or the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA), and adhere to all provincial regulations as well as any additional measures that might be required according to the task or customer.
We offer more than just compliance as a confined space service provider.
When it is necessary we also design and operate rope systems that support the work or inspections being performed in the hard-to-access areas and we also approach each task with our client’s project and organizational goals in mind, including excellent administrative and project management back-up.
Our confined space services generally fall into one of three categories, or all three: standby rescue, access and contracting services.
For access, we provide comfortable, efficient access in confined spaces by implementing customized systems while managing all necessary compliance activity.
For standby rescue projects, we send a fully prepared team to provide complete management services of confined spaces including, as applicable, confined space permits, ventilation, safety briefings, access support, air and situational monitoring, along with onsite rescue and first aid services.
For contracting services, rather than just facilitating entry, we actually provide the technical services in the confined space. These could include cleaning, painting, coatings work and welding amongst others.
With our confined space services, including access and standby rescue, we make our clients operations safer, more compliant and more effective, enabling them to successfully reach intended objectives.
Common Questions About Our Confined Space Services
Our team at Tundra Rescue provides high-quality confined space services to our clients. We know you want as much information about this service as possible, so we have answered a few common questions about our confined space solutions below.
What certifications do you have?
All of our technicians are trained according to NFPA standards and are subject to regular refresher and skill renewal training. Our technicians are also normally certified by the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) and/or the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA), and certainly this would be the case in any task where more advanced rope techniques are necessary. Additionally, we follow all provincial regulations for confined access safety, including established training requirements.
Do you offer standby rescue?
Yes! We can help your organization identify and access confined spaces along with providing permits, ventilation, air monitoring, onsite rescue, first aid and emergency client extraction services and more. Our access systems are designed with the two purposes of facilitating safe and practical access to allow work tasks to be completed effectively inside the confined space and to allow timely evacuation from the confined space.
How do you optimize safety?
We offer a multi-layered approach to optimizing safety which starts with clearly identifying the task, the type of space, and the type of work to be conducted in that space.
We then develop a plan and access methodology via a Job Safety Analysis and Assessment that it is accordance with our customer’s project or program schedule, including coordination with other stakeholders if necessary.
We then ensure we have the right number of effective, well-trained staff, including appropriately experienced supervisors, and the right kind and quantity of equipment deployed.
Our approach to onsite safety includes regular safety briefings and strict adherence to our own operating procedures as well as any other measures that might be necessary for a particular site.
Our specialty is implementing customized technical rope access systems, which allows for a greater level of job performance and safety, and our work is always complemented by effective back-end administrative support.
What industries do you serve?
We work with organizations in a variety of industries, including engineering, construction, wind energy, food and beverage manufacturing, painting and coatings, real estate management, defense and security, solar energy, and more. In short, anywhere where there may be a confined space or a challenging access requirement.
